The Prefecture Goverment Hall, also called municipal government hall, is a national historic site.
1895:The Infrastructures were mainly left by Qing Dynasty when Japanese troops occupied the place.
1904:Jeng ZooLane along with other 22 local gentlemen, raised funds to build the new government hall.
1927:The building wasn't officially in use until the beam raising ceremony on November 26.
1932:The entrance hall was expanded.
Part of the building was destoryed by the American troops during the end of World War Ⅱ.

When the Japanese began their colonization, Hinchu was known as Shinchiku, which was ruled by the Shinchiku Prefecture.
1946:Separated from Taoyuan and Miaoli county, the Hsinchu County Government was established.
1982:The Hsinchu county government moved to Zhubei and Hsinchu City was ruled directly by Taiwan Province.
1998:Listed the Provincial Deined Monument, the building underwent another maintenance construction from 2000 to 2005.

U-shaped two-story reinforced brick structure.
Proper dimension and symmetrical balance in the structure.
Victorian style arch arcade and Roman pillars.
